Pub Bharo!

with one comment

Our beloved minister has given a call for “Pub Bharo“. And our media friends think its inspired by the “Jail Bharo” andolan.

I hope that our “friendly neighbourhood culture protection forces” dont protest against sale of drugs and narcotics anywhere. Nor should they protest against anybody operating brothels. Newspapers keep reporting about “services” being offered for people, especially the IT generation on Bangalore’s outskirts. I hope no-one protests against that as well. Given the fervour with which our minister is defending freedom and rights, we could end up receiving other calls 🙂

BTW, one minister is going hammer and tongs to bring about some policy to regulate alcohol. Another gives a call to swamp pubs. A public debate between the two would be interesting! Or maybe I am wrong – people could be going to/bharo-fying pubs just to socialize, you see, without consuming alcohol at all 🙂

  1. ha ha ha. I agree with your comments. 🙂

This minister must have given a call for “Pub Bharo” sitting right in her office and right under the picture of Mahatma Gandhi fully realizing that Gandhi Jayanti is a dry day as a mark of respect to the mahatma.

What an irony!!! What a shame!!!

I mean, don’t get me wrong… I’m not at all in support of beating up whoever goes to the pub. I only meant to say that was one extreme while this is the other extreme.
