Navagraha Mantras in Kannada

with 3 comments

I have uploaded the “Saswara” Navagraha mantras in Kannada to my mantras page. These include the mantras for the Adhi Devata and the Pratyadhi Devata for each of the nine grahas.

The Graha – Adhi Devata – Pratyadhi Devata list is as below.

  1. Aditya – Savitru – Agni
  2. Angaraka – Prithvi – Kshetrapala
  3. Shukra – Indrani – Indra
  4. Chandra – Apa – Gowri
  5. Budha – Vishnu – Vishnu
  6. Bruhaspati – Indra – Brahma
  7. Shani – Prajapati – Yama
  8. Rahu – Sarpa – Nirruti
  9. Ketu – Brahma – Chitragupta

Of course, the list of Adhi Devatas and Pratyadhi Devatas is slightly different in different traditions. Hopefully we can cover the other lists through comments 🙂

  1. Hello Hariprasad:

This is my first tme on a blog, so please excuse me if I am not contacting you in the correct way. I could not find an email link to use.

I am working on a project to provide the transliterated text and translation of some prayers that were recorded by my Guru, Swami Muktananda. There are two such prayers that he recorded in Kannada.

As part of the project, I am trying to also provide the text of each prayer in its original language. The two prayers I would like to find written in Kannada are:

I have not had success yet searching for these texts, but I did find your wonderful site. I wonder if you happen to have the Kannada text for them, and if so, if you would be willing to share them under any circumstance. I would be glad to credit you and provide links to your blog. If you don’t have these texts, I would also be grateful for any ideas you may have on where I may continue my search.

In case it would help you to identify the prayers I am looking for, the English transliteration for them in pdf form are online at:

I also have audio files of these prayers if that would help.

Thanks in advance for your kind consideration.

    • Namaskara Maria,

If you know kannada, you can download the free software from http://www.baraha.com/ and transliterate them yourself. It is very simple and easy to use.

      Regards, Hari

  2. Namaskar Hariprasad:

Thanks for your quick response. Unfortunately I do not know Kannada, and the only source I have of these prayers is in English transliteration. I wonder if there is such a thing as a translating service that could put the prayers back into Kannada for me, if the text is not available elsewhere. Most of the other prayers are in Sanskrit and I have been fortunate to find them online. I would be happy to employ a service to do this work, if such a service exists. Any ideas you may have would be appreciated. I will also write to the people at baraha in case they have any ideas.

    Best regards,

    Maria Shen
