Sri Madhvacharya once demonstrated “Laghima Siddhi” or the ability to become light on will by sitting on the back of a very small kid and going around the Prakara of a temple. The kid did not even as much as feel the presence of Sri Madhva on his back!

It was Sri Madhvacharya who revealed for the first time that the Valmiki Ramayana was NOT the first Ramayana. The Mula (original) Ramayana was narrated by Lord Hayagriva himself to Brahma and comprises of 100 crore shlokas!

Once, when Sri Vadiraja Swamy was visiting Pune, an assembly of scholars had gathered there and had adjudged Bana’s “Shishupala Vadha” as the best Sanskrit work ever. Swamiji asked them to wait for some time and offered to bring to them something better than Bana’s work. In 19 days, he then composed “Rukminishavijaya”, his magnum opus. The scholars voted it as the greater work, paraded it on an elephant and hailed Sri Vadiraja Swamy as “Kavi Kula Thilaka” (The gem amongst poets)!

Lord Bhimasena believed that the prime duty of his avatar was to destroy evil and that this was a service to God. Hence, he offered his “killing” of Dushashana and Duryodhana to Lord Krishna by reciting the Manyu Sukta and Vrushabha Sukta respectively!

In his work Katha Lakshana, Sri Madhvacharya has dwelt on the topic of communication, explaining the various types of discussions/debates, the rules for classifying discussions, the conditions and people needed and the ideal way of conducting them!

According to our Puranas, Budha (mercury) is the illegitimate son of Chandra (moon) and Tara (wife of Bruhaspati – Jupiter) !!

Sri Madhva is known for this crisp and short writings. Most of his works are very short in size (but, needless to say, oceanic in depth!).

In fact, in one of his works “Yamaka Bharata”, the 78th shloka is actually a series of 32 “Bha”s. Something like..

This shloka has attracted numerous commentaries!

Sri Madhvacharya, in his work Krishnamrutamaharnava, mentions five qualities in a person which make him worthy of being respected. The five are wealth, relation, age, position (achievement) and knowledge – wealth being the least important of them all and knowledge being the most important!

Sri Narahari Tirtha, a direct disciple of Sri Madhva and one of the early converts to Sri Madhva’s school, was deputed by Sri Madhva to Kalinga (now Orissa) to spread Tattvavada. He ended up “ruling” Kalinga for over 12 years due to the untimely death of the King of Orissa!

After the Mahabharata war ended, the palace of Duryodhana and Dushashana was occupied by Bhima and Arjuna respectively!!
